Some projects begin with a plan.
Others begin with a feeling.
While creating the Solstice Toques, I found myself reaching for yarn that made me pause – colours that felt grounding, soft to the eye and the hands, gentle in how they unfolded. There was something quietly joyful about working with these gradients. They didn’t rush. They didn’t demand attention. They simply were.
That’s where the Winter Quartz Collection began.
Alberta winters are full of contrast – icy mornings followed by sudden warmth, pale skies giving way to colour, stillness broken by movement. Winter Quartz is inspired by those subtle shifts.
Each colourway in the collection reflects a moment:
skies changing tone at sunrise
frost giving way to light
quiet landscapes layered with depth
The gradients are slow and intentional, designed to unfold gradually across a project rather than announce themselves all at once.
This collection was curated with calm in mind.
Winter Quartz yarns are ideal for makers who enjoy:
gentle colour transitions
smooth, harmonious palettes
projects that feel meditative rather than busy
They work beautifully for shawls, wraps, sweaters, accessories, and any piece where the yarn is allowed to lead without distraction.
Whether you knit or crochet, these are yarns that invite you to slow down.
Winter Quartz is a small-batch studio selection, curated and imported by Fluffmade Studio. Each colourway was chosen for harmony and versatility — meant to be worn, gifted, and lived with, not just admired.
Availability is limited. While the Winter Quartz collection continues to evolve over time, individual colourways may shift or disappear as new palettes emerge. If a shade speaks to you, now is the time to bring it home.
I could have kept these yarns to myself.
They made me happy.
And calm happiness is meant to be shared.
Winter Quartz is an invitation – to softer palettes, slower making, and creative spaces that feel steady and kind.
Thank you for being here, and for making alongside me.

I am willing to give your yarn a try but, searching the website there is nowhere that tells me the content of the yarn, wool, mixed, weight. Need to know all of those. Plus I live in Calgary and would like to pick up my order. Thank you.
