We’re happy to wind hanks into cakes for you for a small fee. Please note that wound yarn is considered final sale, as winding alters the original condition of the yarn.

If you’d like your yarn caked, select the "Cake My Yarn" option at checkout or contact us before placing your order.

Knots are a normal part of yarn production.

Industry standards typically allow up to 2–3 knots per 100 g skein or ball, depending on fibre and manufacturing method. These joins occur during spinning or plying and do not affect the overall integrity of the yarn.

We inspect yarn on arrival, and small joins may not be visible until the yarn is worked.

Knots within industry standards are not considered defects and are not grounds for replacement or refund.

If you encounter excessive or structurally problematic joins, please contact us with clear photos and details — we’re always happy to review.

Yes, some of our yarns are hand-dyed or feature intentional colour variation.

Please expect:

• natural variation between skeins
• subtle shifts in tone within a skein
• differences between dye lots
  

We recommend alternating skeins for larger projects to achieve a balanced fabric.

We photograph yarn in natural light, and on both light and dark background, and we aim for an accurate representation, though colour perception can vary due to:

• screen settings
• lighting conditions
• fibre type and sheen

Yarn is also inherently three-dimensional — it often looks different in the skein than when worked into fabric.

We recommend storing yarn:

• away from direct sunlight
• in a dry, well-ventilated space
• protected from pests

Natural fibres benefit from breathable storage rather than sealed plastic for long periods.

Not routinely. However, pickup may be arranged at our discretion. Local delivery within Calgary is available via FluffPost for a minimal fee.

No — all sales are final due to the handmade-to-order nature of Fluffmade items. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 72 hours with photos.

Hand wash in cool water using gentle detergent. Lay flat to dry. Avoid stretching or wringing.

Spot clean only. Do not soak or machine wash. Always follow the heating and cooling instructions on the product page.

The wrap can be machine washed.

Yes — and make sure to follow instructions carefully. Heat in short intervals and never leave unattended. Overheating may damage the pack.

Yes — place in a sealed bag (to avoid freezer smell ideally) and freeze for at least 2 hours before use.
